Vision & Aspirations
To provide a high quality local environment with appropriate and effective services
To facilitate greater parishioner engagement in parish matters
To improve the management and governance of the Parish Council
To create partnerships with external organisations in order to deliver our vision

To provide a high quality local environment with appropriate and effective services
• To improve and enhance the local environment wherever possible developing sustainable and ‘green’ policies and practice, as follows:
 To maintain and offer Marsh Drive Sports Grounds & Pavilion and Downs Barn Sports facilities & Pavilion for the benefit of the community in accordance with conditions of our lease
 To develop Marsh Drive Pavilion & Downs Barn Pavilion using third party monies to improve amenities & create income generation potential
 To work with owners and traders to make improvements to our local Centres
 To provide, maintain & develop the provision of allotments to meet the needs of local residents
 To properly maintain all facilities owned by the Council: Great Linford Cricket Ground & Pavilion ; the Thatched Barn
 To ensure the proper maintenance of Pear Tree Pond
 To create a Public Art Trail by 2014
 To develop a Neighbourhood Plan in response to the Localism Bill

• To develop our working relationships with MK Council & our Neighbourhood Engagement Officers and other agencies in the provision of effective local services e.g. TVP, SLC, P T, BALC & other parishes
 To consider the provision of services and the acquisition of properties via Expressions of Interest to MKC under the Localism Act.

To facilitate greater parishioner engagement in parish matters
• Maintain and improve communications with parishioners through News and Views and the Parish website
• To engage young people in the work of the parish and parish issues by introducing Youth Council
• To take every opportunity to promote GLPC
• Consult with parishioners on parish matters and encourage their engagement in parish affairs & to offer improved access to the Council’s offices, staff & members
• To work to create a vibrant local community involving all our parishioners
• Maintain and improve partnerships with local NAGS
• Trial at Participatory Budgeting scheme in 2012

To improve the management and governance of the Parish Council
• To endeavour to attain a full complement of councillors and improve the Induction of new councillors
• To encourage all councillors to think and act locally and strategically and to actively support parish projects
• To improve the education and training of all councillors so that they have a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities
• To ensure that all parish projects are effectively undertaken with clear leadership and proper financial and management planning
• To improve the precept planning process and seek to provide value for money
• To provide training & development for Parish Office staff
• To develop professional Human Resources policies and practice
• To ensure all office systems are fit for purpose
• To integrate Willen, Newlands and Willen Lake into the parish
• To write and sign up to a new Code of Conduct (Localism Bill)

To create partnerships with external organisations in order to deliver our vision
• To pro-actively develop existing and new partnerships with other organisations to deliver our vision including :
 Milton Keynes Council
 MK Dons, Sports for All and other Sports organisations
 Parks Trust and Groundwork
 Funding Bodies
 Milton Keynes Council of Voluntary Organisations
 Local Schools and Pre School Groups
