Dear Residents

As you will know, there are no sports facilities on Oakridge Park for the use of residents. Rather than provide these, the developers of your estate opted to provide money towards the provision and maintenance of playing fields (sports) within the nearest parishes of Great Linford, New Bradwell or Stantonbury. It should be noted that the money can only be used for this purpose and if not used will be returned to the developer.

Great Linford Parish Council have held discussions with both New Bradwell and Stantonbury Parish Councils and have learned that neither have any public playing fields nor have any land available to provide such facilities.
There is however a sports ground at Marsh Drive, Great Linford, which is in easy reach of Oakridge Park and where there are currently 7 football pitches of various sizes for different age groups, a cricket pitch (summer use), 3 floodlit tennis courts and a sports pavilion with changing rooms, toilets, a small social area and tennis club room.

Great Linford Parish Council acquired the site from Milton Keynes Council a few years ago but the facilities have not been improved since originally built over 40 years ago.  Great Linford Parish Council are therefore working to secure the use of the money provided by the developer, to improve the sports facilities at Marsh Drive. We are also working with local clubs and organisations including Great Linford FC, MK Dons Ladies FC and Great Linford Tennis Club to ensure that organised sports and coaching is available for people of all ages and abilities. In addition, using different funding, there will also be a community building for a variety of uses. All of these would be available to residents of Oakridge Park.
To help us make the application we want to consult with you and your neighbours and would like to hear how you would expect to use the facilities when finished and the sort of activities you would like to see run there.
We would really appreciate it, if you can take a few moments to help us get it right by completing the brief questionnaire overleaf either by:
